44TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

BVSJ continues its frontline commitment to active/inactive military personnel, their families and the community. Annually, BVSJ assists thousands of veterans with difficulties transitioning from military to civilian life. Unfortunately, many needed services are not covered by city, state and federal funding, so our “Annual Celebration” is an essential source of non-restrictive support.

VETERANS SERVICE CENTER

The Veterans Service Center provides program services to assist military personnel in smoothly transitioning from active duty to civilian life. The VSC is dedicated to servicing military personnel, veterans and their families in the areas below.

HOUSING DIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT

BVSJ efficiently manages several housing components of supportive housing for chronically homeless veterans, veterans with substance abuse or mental illness, female veterans with children, those living with HIV/AIDS, chronically homeless adults, and veterans and their families.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

The New York City Council has created a unique partnership linking labor unions, community groups and a network of respected workforce providers to mobilize efforts that will benefit job seekers, the under-employed and the unemployed New Yorkers.

SUICIDE PREVENTION

The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) honors Veteran Parker Gordon Fox, who joined the Army in 2014 and was a sniper instructor at the U.S.
