Empowering Veterans Every Day – Wendy McClinton & BVSJ’s Mission for Change

Join Sean Claiborne, U.S. Army National Guard veteran, in a heartfelt conversation with Wendy McClinton, U.S. Army Veteran and President/CEO of Black Veterans Social Justice (BVSJ). 

 

Key Discussion Points: The Mission of BVSJ: Supporting veterans with housing, employment, mental health, and reintegration services. Wendy’s personal journey from homelessness to leading BVSJ Addressing barriers veterans face, such as accessing benefits, overcoming stigma, and adapting to civilian life. The upcoming New York Veterans Everyday Empowerment Summit on November 15th. 

 

Highlights: B.V.S.J’s Programs: Transitional housing, food insecurity relief (2000 meals weekly), mental health initiatives, and Staff Sergeant Fox programs for suicide prevention. 

 

Empowering younger veterans (ages 25–30) through technology-driven initiatives like cybersecurity, gaming, AI, and financial literacy. Collaboration with partners like Microsoft, Xbox, Moet Hennessy, AMC Networks, and more to equip veterans with tools for success. 

 

A unique focus on making veterans visible and valued in New York City’s public spaces and initiatives.
