Jobs to build On is a project of the Consortium for Worker Education funded by the New York City Council and administered by the City University of New York.

Jobs to Build On is an employment plan that offers free training and employment services to low skilled, unemployed or underemployed individuals to prepare them with a career prospect at a living wage.

Minimum eligibility requirements are that you must be at least 18 years old, a resident of NYC and underemployed or unemployed.

Life is about change and moving on. We must accept where are and responsibility and make the necessary changes.

 BVSJ has several hundred people people that come here voluntarily every year because they want to make a change in their life. Last year many people came through the same doors as you, have either taken a training course which led them to a career, or received job referrals and are now back to work because of their own efforts and the efforts of BVSJ staff.

None of the counselors can promise or guarantee you a job. For us to make such a statement would be foolish. However, you can make that promise to yourself. We can promise you that each one of our counselors will work with you to help you achieve your goal.
